More Plants For Your Southern California Garden

Joe displayed and discussed a selection of favorite plants produced by Magic Growers that are especially well adapted to Southern California gardens. These includes perennials, herbs, succulents and Mediterranean climate shrubs. A question and answer session followed his presentation.

Magic Growers, Inc., located in the foothills of northeast Pasadena, grows perennial plants and shrubs for retail garden centers, wholesale nurseries, plant brokers, contractors and landscape professionals. Customers also include botanical gardens, arboretums, golf courses and theme parks. Magic Growers, Inc. specializes in growing herbaceous perennials, herbs and landscape roses. As production manager, Joe is responsible for propagating and growing the company’s diverse plant material.

Joe Brosius received his Bachelor of Science degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Cal-Poly, San Luis Obispo and is active in nursery industry affairs. He and his wife, Mary, a former president of the Southern California Horticultural Society, live in Pasadena and in Paso Robles, California, where they farm olive trees for olive oil.
