Program:
What’s Bugging Your Garden
At the July meeting, we learned about garden plant problems, diseases and pests – common, uncommon and ‘new’ with experienced plant pathologist, Dr. Jim Downer. After a brief talk and slide show, Dr. Downer looked atsamples of diseased plants brought in by audience members (in Ziploc bags, of course) to help identify what might be ailing their gardens. He also suggested potential remedies.
Dr. Downer received his B.S. in Botany and Horticulture and his M.S. in Biology and Plant Pathology from Cal Poly Pomona; and his Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of California at Riverside.
