Join us for a full-day field trip adventure by chartered bus, with stops at historic gardens, a climate-wise nursery, and a private member garden.
We’ll begin at Rancho Los Alamitos Botanical Garden in Long Beach with a docent-led horticultural tour through four acres of historic gardens, followed by a boxed lunch on the ranch grounds.
From there, we’ll visit Ricardo’s Nursery, known for climate-appropriate plants, fruit trees, and unusual edibles. Guests will have time to explore, shop, and taste exotic fruit.
Our final stop is a private visit to the garden of SCHS member Cat Pannell, whose bird-friendly habitat garden has been featured in multiple articles. Guests will enjoy light refreshments while touring this inspiring habitat-focused garden.
Spend the day with fellow plant lovers, gather ideas for your own garden, and leave inspired, refreshed, and maybe with a few new plants in hand!
